Welcome to the Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research.
The Donnelly Centre is a state-of-the-art interdisciplinary research institute that allows scientists at all stages of their careers to interact in stunning open-concept space, to think about the next big questions and to invent new methods to tackle them.
This would not have been possible without the generous gift of Mr. Terrence Donnelly, along with guidance from research visionaries Professors Cecil Yip and James Friesen.
Our ultimate goal is to harness the power of genomics to understand the biology behind health and disease.
This is not just a pursuit of pure knowledge — we continually strive to turn our advances into tangible progress in medicine. This is why Donnelly Centre researchers, Drs. Peter Zandstra and Sachdev Sidhu, have founded the Centre for Commercialization of Renerative Medicine (CCRM) and the Centre for Commercialization of Antibodies and Biologics (CCAB), with a mandate to bring next generation treatments to market.
As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we continue to attract the best minds from all over the globe to do their groundbreaking work here, at the Donnelly Centre. Our faculty have come from Harvard, MIT, Princeton and other leading research institutions, and our outstanding graduate students and postdocs are also drawn from around the world to make breakthroughs here.
This is an exciting time for research thanks to the range of new technologies and endless possibilities they present. When you have people working in a collaborative space like this one, the potential to do important work is just extraordinary.
I encourage you to visit the individual lab websites of our principal investigators to see how the Donnelly Centre is transforming the study of biology and biomedical research.
