Donnelly Centre Research Thesis Prize

The Donnelly Centre Research Thesis Prize is awarded annually to a PhD student who has completed their thesis requirements at the Donnelly Centre. In order to be eligible for the prize, applicants must have passed their final senate oral in the previous calendar year.

A selection committee will choose the prize recipient based on the quality, originality and significance of their work – which should represent a diverse range of research topics.

Applications requirements

  • Completed application form
  • Curriculum vitae, including the following sections:

    • Academic background

    • Academic, research and other relevant work experience

    • Articles published or accepted in peer-reviewed journals

    • Non-peer-reviewed contributions (specialized publications, technical reports, preprints, conference presentations, posters, articles submitted, etc.)

    • Technology transfer

    • Awarded and submitted patents and copyrights

    • Scholarships and other awards

  • A two-page summary of the thesis work outlining the significance, impact and originality of the results, as well as potential applications of the research. The summary should also describe how the applicant's thesis embodies the mandate of the Donnelly Centre, including contributions to collaborative publications and research activities.

  • A recommendation letter from the applicant's thesis supervisor including the thesis submission date, a description of the research problem, techniques used, results and the potential impact of the thesis work.

  • Copies of up to two relevant publications

The deadline for applications is March 7, 2024.
